I wouldn't have cast Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, but he's doing a pretty job of it so far

@BestGirlGrace the other reason i liked the TV show so much is because Warburton is playing against type as a quiet, sad brainiac. also he's EXTREMELY FUCKING HOT

@BestGirlGrace That's my take on it too. I've been a fan of Warburton for his voice acting for a long time and seen photos of him, but would not have thought of him as a candidate for Snicket, but he is showing himself to be very able to convey the tone of the narration with the right level of depression, information, wryness, and deadpan expressions.

@fountainofwonder Yeah, I'm glad he's moving on from being The Wacky Sidekick or The Meathead and getting to not only carry his own scenes, but doing a fantastic job of it.

@irisjaycomics I'm glad it only took him from Seinfeld to now to graduate from meathead with varying levels of wacky to doing a great job as sadboy brain genius Lemony.

@BestGirlGrace His voiceover work is superb, even though most of his characters sound very much alike. He doesn't sound like that as Snicket. Do you have any notion of how popular/successful the Wrong Questions books have been, in comparison with ASoUE? Is there any chance, do you think, that we'd see adaptations of that? I suspect that the Wrong Questions are a whole lot less of a hit and would be unlikely to be adapted.

@fountainofwonder I didn't know there were books in the same canon until I looked it up today, but I'm hoping the Netflix series is popular enough that they make more.

@BestGirlGrace There should be a new promotion by the publishers to raise awareness of the prequels, like IMMEDIATELY. They are fun stuff and I dug them, even though the puzzly bits I really got fascinated by in ASoUE were lacking to some extent. If we want to follow up, we need to get the books known and people interested in them while they are digging the last set of episodes. Now who do we turn to for a younger Warburton as youth Lemony??

@BestGirlGrace it's particularly circuitous, a word which here means "probably involved more than one change of agents"
