The ancient Nubians were pretty sophisticated too, and were esteemed by the ancient Greeks. I mean, if you continue the racial argument, you could argue that some black populations had better genes than others, but to me, it seems more likely that culture, geography and climate colluded to create ideal conditions for civilisations to crop up in certain places. I'd say the Japanese and the Chinese aren't half bad either, even though it took them centuries to finally figure technology out; with China figuring it out about 50 years later than Japan. One thing I do believe in is that the harsher climate of Northern Europe did us a favour. The first winter must've been tough. It likely killed everyone who hadn't planned ahead and secured food and shelter through the summer, i.e. the smart hard-working people.

@TedTV @folk I always think of the Romans. Contrary to popular belief, Rome didn't fall because it was stormed by barbarians. Rome fell after having absorbed a shit-ton of immigrants. Granted, they were mostly fans of the Roman lifestyle, and we emerged with a pretty decent Romanised Germanic culture after the Dark Ages, but still, it fell *after* the immigration wave, not before...

@thor @folk Yes, fans of the lifestyle but unable to create it for themselves. Very similar to what we have now - everyone on Earth wants the Western lifestyle, but very few of them can do what's necessary to maintain it.For instance, one of the things that Americans get lectured on is the social welfare systems of Nordic countries. How well do those hold up with a 17% Muslim poopulation? How about 30%? 60?We all know the answer, at some point they don't, and the government, with its levers of power captured by the immigrants, throws pensioners out in the streets in order to keep paying its immigrant constituents. Or, it keeps printing money to pretend to pay everyone.Either way, what comes next isn't pretty.

@TedTV @folk Oh, small changes are already happening. It used to be that you could receive welfare money if you were unemployed without providing anything but evidence that you're unemployed. Now they want to track how many job applications you're filing per week. I don't want the government to collect that information. I ended up having to use my own savings earlier this year because I refused to provide that information. The system is being locked down, and I'm quite sure it is due to immigrants abusing it...
