       @crushv @benval my desktop is at uni and honestly I turn it on once a month because my laptop can do basically anything I actually need... Its  got a shitty dual core hyper threaded i5-7200u cpu but 16gb of ram and that's all that seems to matter these days.

       @freon @crushv @benval I've never seen it pull more than 17w on battery, so I doubt it pulls much more on power

       @kurisu @benval I got a new laptop a few months ago and it's 85% of the speed of my desktop and cause of that I've pretty much abandoned it...

       @crushv @benval same for me. Downgrading from 4c4t desktop cpu to 2c4t mobile cpu with far lower clocks just didn't make any noticeable effect  on my daily activities. The only thing that seems to matter is ram (I need 16gb for vms and compiling crystal) and display outputs. And my laptop can dock and have 2 display ports plus the internal display easily. So I rarely find a reason to boot up my desktop. Since I play games so rarely. I should really play games  more often...
