ECS is incredible it is seriously blowing my mind how much better for games this is than object oriented

@thatcosmonaut I'm trying to do some simple gamedev in Rust and ECS is the way to go (mostly because Rust isn't OO). Currently deciding if I want to learn Specs or if I should just roll my own simple ECSish system

@sinistar i've been rolling my own in lua, the architecture is based on pretty simple fundamental principles and it's nice having a really strong grasp on the internals of your own implementation. your mileage may vary. it certainly turned out to be a bit more nuanced than i expected so i'm building a game with it just to get a handle on some of the edge cases and stuff. sorry for textwall haha

@thatcosmonaut I'm thinking that maybe starting with "Array of structs" and DIYing my systems might be the best approach for now. I have a simple roguelike that I built from a tutorial which gets me halfway there anyway
