@djabadu "Oh! People uses it to chat abot open source projects! Let's pretend we're friendly with the FOSS community while doing literally NOTHING for the FOSS community!"

@djabadu Hey fellow gamers, did we already tell you we're gamers who made Discord for gamers like ourselves? Also we ❤️ Open Source if it uses our proprietary spyware for communication, not if it tries to reverse engineer it though.

@lis @djabadu tbh discord did contribute to a lot of open source projects.

@kura @djabadu It also goes after any open source project that attempts to implement a client that doesn't track you

@lis @djabadu I can understand that to a certain point. Their project per se isn't open source. But they do support the open source project they use. Similar to github (old and new version) or gitolite. And the likes.

@kura @djabadu The very fact that they're even *able* to go after reverse engineers is a fucking disgrace

@lis @kura @djabadu I've seen Discord condone the reverse engineering community around their own API. This eventually led to official documentation of it, as well as features that allows large bots (like my own) to exist. They more recently even sent me a hoodie as a reward, when I disclosed a security bug I found while reverse engineering one of their non-bot endpoints.
