Oh, christ. The upcoming reCAPTCHA v3 is even more cancerous than reCAPTCHA v2. Just die already, Google. Please.

@MightyPork Not sure. You can read about it here:https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/v3Test it here:https://recaptcha-demo.appspot.com/recaptcha-v3-request-scores.phpAnd the thread on it and the inconsistent experiences (expected -- it's beta, after all) from various users here:https://boards.4chan.org/g/thread/67811069

@BiggusDikkus @MightyPork "reCAPTCHA works best when it has the most context about interactions with your site, which comes from seeing both legitimate and abusive behavior. For this reason, we recommend including reCAPTCHA verification on forms or actions as well as in the background of pages for analytics."Great, more Google tracking. Hopefully uBlock Origin will have an option to block that soon.Out of curiosity, is there anything like an (effective) open source captcha?

@BiggusDikkus I remember that "invisible recaptcha" worked quite well when they rolled it out. However, they somehow lost it over time. Right now, it already takes me like ~1.5 minutes to get through recaptcha approval (in comparison to ~5 seconds for every other captcha service). This one seems like ... I don't know. Invisible recaptcha with instant denial when they would usually show you challenges? :D

@BiggusDikkus @MightyPork firefox mobiles built in tracking protection + privacy mode stops the script from returning results, for me, so I assume that’s an auto failSafari + purify adblocker + no google accounts logged in = 0.7Am not willing to find out if turning off purify would score me 0.9, but this does make me want to upgrade my adblocker

@BiggusDikkus kindah feel this doesn't have to be worse. But it will be.Wouldn't call it a China-like system, but certainly if multiple companies do this, we're going in that direction.I have had issues with http://archive.fo/ and captchas/GDPR/cookie walls 😞I think we need a browser addon that records pages and allows people to use it decentralizedly.
