@snail so I should stop being mad at people trying to force me to use shit like discord or facebook just because they don't know about the dangers?but I have to admit that (at least the UI) of some foss software isn't meant to be used be normal users. which is, in another way, pretty much the same harmful as proprietary software. I think devs should learn to create better UIs and users should accept that they use complicated software, it's just the UI showing it differently.

@lucy @snail I cant speak for snail, but Masto and Pleroma at the moment are terrible at the dev baseKrita is actually very very nice and useful and the UI is actually pretty good- idk what to say about their dev base because I don’t interact with them- but I have doubts that the dev base is decent :(I have hopes but like, :( :( Most foss dev cultures I seen are hella (white)boys club only

@thefishcrow @lucy @snail I don't think Masto is that bad. It has releases, official Docker containers, only depends on Postgres/Redis (with optional Elastic Search), all which run in containers. Pleroma needs releases, but there are people in their dev community that have issues with that. I've contributed three patches to Mastodon so far, have a few issues I might try on Pleroma.
