       @kemonine @noorul does pleroma have groups through? That I think is the one feature that is missing so far in activitypub ecosystem.

       @eylul no if doesn't like Mastodon.To imitate group, you can create separate account and connect members to it.Use specific tag to get connected.I doubt group feature is not implement. As you can form separate instance with specific theme

       @eylul @noorul I don't think so but I believe @kaniini is working on a similar feature.

       @kemonineI checked out the list of Pleroma instances...in my persuing I get an impression that the list contains mostly small, personal and 'special interest' groups...as well as read up on the diff between it and Mastodon. Hmm. Maybe in time. Right now I don't see anything in Pleroma to interest someone like me (older geek/nerd/tech crowd), those not interested in setting up their own instance. Far cozier and more relevent for me to be here. Just my impression, nothing more being sold.

       @kemonine I thought Friendica and Diaspora were the main FB alternatives.

       @AppleStrudelMan I find Disaspora to be more of a G+ clone.I've not used Friendica...

       @kemonine @eylul @noorul it is something we are working on, but it won't make it for Pleroma 1.x.

       @technoslick @kemonine Oh come on, tech crowd should stand up.Self hosting is truly decentralising.You also consider Mastodon to self host than being in an instance

       @noorul Not necessarily, focus, ability, "give a damn" and more factors come into play.Not every one wants to or cares to self host.Tread lightly.@technoslick : noorul's comments i disagree with

       @kemonine @noorul KemoNine does tick off points that reflect my situation. But I do agree Noorul, self-hosting is truly the epitome of decentralising. I'm enjoying my elder years as a curmudgeon geek. I'm not as social as I was say five or ten years ago. For me to self-host is an exercise in setting up an instance, nothing more. I prefer to jump aboard someone else's ship, infrequently and as I am in the mood or position. I realize this is not typical behavior of my peers. :)
