'just got a #Firefox Sync server deployed for the family 🎉In addition to being free and open-source, thanks to @mozilla for letting the possibility to do so and for their pretty straightforward documentationhttps://mozilla-services.readthedocs.io/en/latest/howtos/run-sync-1.5.html#Mozilla #selfhost #LongIsTheRoadButFreeIsTheWay

@HorlogeSkynet @mozilla I read the "Important notes" and I'm confused. Am I getting that right: all authentication requests will be redirected to the Mozilla server? So basically Mozilla will track your family members even though you are using your own server? #Firefox #Mozilla

@neoncipher It depends on what you call "tracking". Basically if you deploy only the #SyncServer, access tokens will keep being issued by the #Firefox #AccountsServer. If you are not keen about that, you can change the identity provider (https://github.com/mozilla-services/syncserver/blob/90d8e83b3d873001b18fcc594a50bafc472d654b/syncserver.ini#L20), and make it point to your own #Firefox Accounts stackhttps://mozilla-services.readthedocs.io/en/latest/howtos/run-fxa.html#howto-run-fxahttps://github.com/mozilla/fxa-auth-server/https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-content-server/ @mozilla
