1: Keep the Masto.This is probably my least favourite option. The masto server is slower and much more expensive than the pleroma one, and personally the features of pleroma (better ui and higher character limit) are better imo

2: Keep the Pleroma instance at pleroma.ilovela.inThis one is the easiest option, and my preferred option if we don't want people to have to recreate accounts (that already have pleroma accounts) the domain is a little ugly but not the worst, Im just not a fan of long domains

3: create a new pleroma instance at a new domain.this could be a subdomain of ilovela.in (pl.ilovela.in is my first choice) or wepl.ilovela.in (or something similar) could get a new domain.I am able to get welovela.in assuming no-one ninja's it after reading this post, which I think could easily fit, and its cheap so I don't mind buying that.Everyone would need to create a new account however, although the masto-only people are gonna have to anyway

@lunarised thats a fair call.since ilovela.in isn't gonna be used for fedi anymore either we can go welovela.in for fedi and ilovela.in for the community intro page faq thing.My vote is for either pl.ilovela.in or welovela.in

@tA interested in the prospects of 3, do we need to have the pleroma.someth.ing, or can we just be the someth.ing? Because I feel like not having pleroma. Is a lot more aesthetic 🤷‍♂️That said I’m biased toward it, bc I haven’t already made a second account, so I’m making a new one either way.That said I’m pretty happy where/as we are, but as much as I have attachment to here, I only have a couple of weeks of investment, so I’m all for the Greater Good™️

@shitney We don't need it to be prefixed with pleroma, the only restrictions with domains at the moment is it cant be the same as one of our current two instances (even after we delete them).the two main ideas for domains are either welovela.in, or pl.ilovela.in

@tA too bad we cannot have pleroma in root ilovelain.init is a perfect domain name in my eyes.i am not a big fan of putting pl in front of it as it ruins a bit of the domain name in my eyes. i will continue with whatever the majority think is right, and vote to ditch mastodon. being lighter on resources will allow more growth and better hellthreading. welovela.in is also a really good option in my eyes.

Plemora pros- Better for the server resources- You can still use the mastodon layout so you won't lose your familiar UI- Most stuff is tweakable (toot-length, image-upload-size,...)- Different profile options (background image)Plemora cons- Different profile options (You can't add sections like website on plemora, at least I think that you can't)- Some people have to make a new accountwelovela.in or pl.ilovela.in? ___________________________I prefer welovela.in over pl.ilovela.in since the pl in the name seems unnecessary but that is just my opinion. That means that we need to make a new account though but I would be fine with that.
