       the thing is, all of this crap is normalized to a truman show level of disconnect from reality. so when a dutch person tells you they don't think this is racist, it's because most of them legitimately do not make the connection. you can find people who pride themselves on being extremely "woke", "progressive", "leftist", etc etc and STILL don't see how it's racist
