       Upset but not suprised that my extended family members are all joining literal megachurchesLike come on, conservative & homophobic little churches were bad enough but now you gotta go to the church version of a Amway presentation every Sunday and put money in the bowl to buy the pastor a new private jet

       I went to the family's new megachurch one time and there were probably 3k+ seats in the place, all full, AND NOT A SINGLE PERSON OF COLOR It's really disgusting how people lock themselves away in their white suburban bubbles and then get together to pat themselves on the back about how much good they are clearly doing for the world

       I don't want to get too edgy atheist with this but any mission trip that goes to another country for a week isn't doing anyone any good. It's just poverty tourism. You're just going there to make yourself feel good and push your values on people. You're like vacation timeshare people who bait customers in with something they actually want and then make them sit and listen for hours to something that probably isn't good for them
