@yolo @DetectiveHyde Why are Asian men such weak little beta males? Is that why Asian women like white men over asian men? Cause asian men are pussies?

@DetectiveHydeThis reason had me think folks who run an instance with an expensive list of blocked instances won't grow too large. Good for them, they can do what they want, but I think a good amount of folks want that raw unfiltered internet back. Dollars to donuts the ones who do sign up on those instance, I'm sure a good portion of them have alts in instances that don't have such long block lists.

@Azazer Absolutely. The only people who seem to actually want blocklists are the easily upset twitter types.I can see the case for maybe blocking switter, but that's it. Even then, we didn't so that in the Chad Zone.

@DetectiveHyde Yeah, the whole federated concept, I think, will better resist block tactics. Federated social is just complicated to explain to folks. I've met some that think of Mastodon and Pleroma as some monolithic social media network instead and attribute certain people and attributes to each and don't get that it's software anyone can use for whatever reason.

@Azazer it does seem comically true that Mastodon is broadly used by twitter social justice types and pleroma is broadly used by channer-esque weebs, for some reason!(Niu is the exception!)But yeah I'm surprised at how hard it is for people to understand the architecture even though its fundamentally no different from email.

@DetectiveHyde @Azazer >But yeah I'm surprised at how hard it is for people to understand the architecture even though its fundamentally no different from email. It would not surprise me one bit that many people don't understand e-mail. A shocking amount of people use FB, twatter, et al. as their primary means of communication. To them, e-mail is old and archaic.
