@tim If you want to show the FIL more pics, here's a shot of our 16 track.

@RicardusHe used Neve desks. Hadn't heard of Electrodyne.

@tim Electrodyne was a small but well liked American company. Excellent audio integrity. They later became Sphere. Here's the 48 channel Sphere that needs a restoration.

@tim I worked at a studio with an Amek 9098i which was designed by Rupert Neve. He came to our studio to christen the desk so I met the man.

@RicardusFIL met Rupert Neve in '64 and was asked to recommend a new colour for desk fascia. At the time, it was gloss Black (!) Ray recommended matt Blue / Grey.

@tim OK, that's it. I gotta come to England and hang out with you and another friend I have named Pete who owns a studio (with a Neve), and visit a few pubs. Possibly the Queen.

@tim Wow. A conservative choice to be sure, but not a bad one.

@RicardusThat would be cool. I think the nearest you'd get to visiting Her Majesty would be to visit a pub 2 miles from here called "The Queen's Head". ;)

@RicardusActually, his big lament is that in those days, engineers got no credits on recordings - or very rarely. I think that would have sufficed, rather than a knighthood.
