@infosechandbook wouldn't I actively have to open port forwarding on my router to give direct access - or any kind of access to the camera? Without it I'd think an attacker would have to get through the router firewall first?

@max Most routers come with non-strict security configuration. For instance, some routers allow UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) requests from the internet.Looking at all of these camera streams, it's likely that only a small amount of people consciously show others the inside of their homes, companies etc.

@infosechandbook @max i always thought "Who is sooo dumb and portforwards an ip camera etc" but yeah... UPnP is sadly active on many routers
