YIKES. what is the POINT of being Christian in that case? (Sadly, not wrong as a functional assessment)This is why I left my childhood church. A weird mix of this and Evangelicalism. I found no point. No good. No transformation in it. And then I found the Mennonites and everything changed.

@ruth That's a fascinating explanation of the contradiction at the heart of most historical Christianity. Wow. I knew this but hadn't put it together quite like that.
