@ayy I hate that my state requires that everyone has car insurance. I have the bare minimum insurance needed to drive my car, and the thing is a 90s junker worth no more than $2k with a failing transmission. My insurance company will no nothing for me in an accident other than increase my premiums; I really don't want it at all.

@wizard The thing is, your insurance isn't for you. It's to pay someone that you may accidentally hurt or damage. And you definitely want the other drivers on the road to have insurance to pay you if they cause something that happens to you.It depends on the insurance company, but if you call in right away, they may be able to put you back on your old rate. It may be a lost cause/waste of time, but it only costs a bit of time to ask and $50/month adds up.
