pretty good: Witchcraft and magic in modern settings, "the magic came back" storylinesextremely my shit: Witchcraft and magic being married with modern science and mathematics. mutating herbs with radiation sources to advance the study of herbology. augmenting the crystal ball with bayesian methods. precursors to bags of holding being regulated like yellowcake

@SuricrasiaOnline i would absolutely read that first onethere’s a bit in Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality where Harry tries to use a time-turner to factor a number in polynomial time (since P=NP in the presence of a time machine) but instead of the factors, he gets a message from himself saying “don’t mess with time travel”

@hierarchon @SenorOblong I would've rathered HPMOR to be more focused around sciencing magic than harry manipulating people

@SuricrasiaOnline have you read Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality?it reimagines harry as a child trained in rational thinking and bayesian methods, and it's simply fantastic how that changes the events of the story: http://www.hpmor.com/
