RT @campuscodi@birdsite.linkMicrosoft Edge engineer describes how Google sabotaged Edge browser performance via constant code changes to its services. Also remember a while back a scandal about YouTube breaking in Firefox via similar tactics. That monopoly charge can't come faster. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18697824 https://twitter.com/campuscodi/status/1074782772470910976

@matthew_d_green @maloki looks like Google are using the 90s Microsoft playbook. It’s a huge shame that history is repeating itself.

@carbontwelve @maloki @matthew_d_green *Bill Adama voice*All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again. We remember corporate greed attacking quality. We remember campaigns like "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish". We remember standards and tests being manipulated into weapons. But we still allow things like Edge switching to Blink. We allow our diversity to die out. We allow centralization.Defend Firefox.Defend Web Freedom. So say we all.

@matthew_d_green I believe it. I use Edge at work, and it's always YouTube that acts weird with it. Videos will fail to load or the mouse just won't click on stuff. I used to blame it on Edge, but now I'm not so sure.

@matthew_d_green I'm more on the train of attributing this to stupidity than malice. Than agiain, stupidity can also be malicious. Down with the Big G!
