@softmetals I’ve been considering picking it up one of the times it’s been on sale for this very reason.

@coffeentacos if you like space adventures and exploration and stuff it’s fun! some facial and environment rendering is just bad or slow but when you pick up the deluxe for $11 i think like i did? it’s way worth it! you need to forgive some things but it’s not bad.

@softmetals yeah that’s what I figured. Just have to decide if I’m likely to actually put the time into it or if I should play one of my too many other games!

@softmetals @coffeentacos I have an old unpatched copy. The animation is as bad as they say in the early releases. I never got into/finished it. It expanded way too quick into way too many side mission, which I think made me give up really early on.

@djsumdog @softmetals that sounds a lot like what they did in Dragon Age Inquisition re: side quests, but that one managed to work quite well for me

@coffeentacos @softmetals I recently finished the main single player story of Destiny 2. I really felt that was done right. Just the right about of side missions, a good main story with solid cinematic, and good RPG elements. It had the shield mechanics of Halo, but the rest felt closer to either ME or Borderlands. I enjoyed ME 1/2/3. I feel like they had originally intended the indoctrinated ending for ME3 and EA made them drop it; which is sad because that would have been amazing.

@djsumdog @softmetals oh that’s got me intrigued. I started it but never got very far in. I think part of what put me off is that it’s a “lifestyle” game to some extent. There are parts that are definitely going to be my thing but so many others that aren’t (sup crucible). I’ll have to revisit it

@coffeentacos @softmetals I have never played an MMO. I somehow avoided both EverCrack and WoW when I was younger, so I feel like I have to be religiously opposed to them 😋 I did one multiplayer capture the flag in Destiny 2, but none of the strikes, none of the raids, didn't even chat with anyone else in the game. I did a bunch of the group events just for easy powerups. You can beat the entire game without any multiplayer, just like ME3.

@coffeentacos @djsumdog i was REALLY INTO destiny 1 and 2 and the whole community i love the lore and story of those games, there’s so much lore to dive into outside of the game too but 2 was so cosmetic and lootboxy on launch and just not rewarding? also geared for casuals. community got mad and they’ve been trying to fix it since! idk where it’s at now it just feels like a chore to get back into as fond as i am about the series (lifestyle aspects as mentioned)
