I've been using Mastadon for about 30 minutes and I'm hooked. Wow. Do you all use this and Twitter? Find yourself not really using Twitter as much?

Thanks @JohnsNotHere for mentioning it on the podcast, by the way.

@gen3sec No worries, but the thanks should go to @jerry for setting this up. I find myself "tooting" here more than tweeting on Twitter, but I follow and re-tweet more on Twitter for now. I liken Mastodon to the "lazy river" of infosec, with Twitter being the white water rapids.

@JohnsNotHere @jerry very cool. Thanks Jerry! I can tell I will be spending a lot of time here vs Twitter. I like the lazy river vs white water analogy. I'm surprised more people haven't made the jump.

@gen3sec @JohnsNotHere it ebbs and flows. Something will happen on FB or Twitter that pisses people off, and we get a few new accounts. I think the community here is really good, but I still also enjoy twitter, but mostly because it has a larger audience

@jerry @JohnsNotHere that makes sense. Gotcha. Cool, I look forward to connecting with folks here. Thanks, excited to be here! John's on point with the whitewater comment. It's too noisy for me.

@gen3sec @jerry I’ve unfollowed a lot of people on Twitter so now I’m only checking it for my friends that are ‘stuck’ on Twitter.

@gen3sec I don't use the hellbird anymore. This is the natural extension of the early internet, and I love it.More like a giant BBS.

@TheGibson that's exactly what my first thought was - and agree with loving it.

@TheGibson that's awesome. I'll have to RTFM. I assume I can check out hackers.town while just being in this space? Or, do I need to 'join' that space, as well?

@gen3sec we're a friendly bunch, but invite only after an attempt by state actors to join several months back while registrations were open...you can certainly follow anyone over here though, and I'll issue an invite if you really want to check it out sometime.

@chidgey @jerry nice, make sense. I have a lot of infosec lists and stuff I may check occasionally, but I see spending most of my social time here.
