Things that are true:1. I was unschooled2. I was in a circus3. I was born in a bathtub at home4. I am vaccinated now although this wasn't always the case (my mom is not an anti-vaxxer)5. I thought chicken pox parties where kids who have chicken pox have their friends over to catch it from them were a thing everyone knew about6. The 90s were a very very different time yall

@moth I thought the reason you're supposed to get chicken pox or get vaccinated as a kid is to avoid getting shingles when you're older cause it could kill you if you get it when you're old

@nuttgodd @moth (im just spitballing from memory but my husband got shingles as a 20 something, after my ex as a 20 something got shingles (back when we had been together)iirc you still get shingles, it's just less likely to kill you outright. but you can avoid both of em these days for the most part and herd minor immunity to shingles death at the cost of extra exposure to chicken pox isn't exactly as good a deal as it might have seemed back then

@brushy @nuttgodd this!!!! Vaccine will pretty much prevent it but contracting chicken pox means you could have shingles just sorta hanging out in your body waiting to Strike. You'll just be better prepared for it.
