I heard a fairly brave and vulnerable song about a young man facing the body shame of early onset balding that was quite touching on some local student radio program and I wish I could find that again

@cwebber It's not strange. Capitalism thrives on our insecurities: they make us overcompensate. Self-confidence is bad for consumption.

@n8 @cwebber I've lived with Alopecia since my late teens (I cannot even grow a full beard; a goatee is all I can muster at this point) so I know it isn't *just* about ageing.There is a stigma around not looking sufficiently "normal" just like with other superficial factors like weight or height. It isn't normal for young people or ladies to be bald. People sometimes associate it with poor health I suppose, similar to ageing in that way.
