Most countries don't have a bill of rights. In fact, the ones they do tend to be shitholes. The only country were that thing counts for "something" is the US.In F-ing Europe we copy-pasted the American Constitution but didn't have the balls to follow through with the bill of rights...

@402PaymentRequired You guys are lucky in some cases that you got more modern elector systems than the US.Britain's libel laws seem pretty chilling compared to the 'say almost anything' that exists around here (see American media). Our joke police are non-governmental, so that's nice and I can refer to Mohammad as a pedophile in reference to child wives without requiring documentation from a psychiatrist.Still, it's weird dissonance for us USers. Looking around, things do not look 'good'.

@402PaymentRequired aah the law.. thats actually not exactly true. Post ww2 countries made 1 major mistake ie including positive rights in their consti and 1 minor mistake ie not going absolute on things like US 1st amdnt. The major was all abt socialism, the minor is cultural (tough for all old civilisations to swallow 1A). Other than that German consti for example is a post war monument (karlsruhe still fighting eu - see lisbon case and recent qe cases).

@Vbhide Yes, When broadly referring to this I had in mind the equivalent of the US 1st ammdt.
