I have a soft spot for game shows and I think that, if inspiration struck, I could come up with a real good one.

@BestGirlGrace 4 contestants get a shitty minimum wage job and try to get fired, the catch is to win you have to be fired before the end of the day, but you have to be the last one fired

@comradetaylorswift Brewster's Millions: the contestant is given a million dollars and has to spend it or give it away by the end of the day. If they do, they get another million.

@comradetaylorswift @BestGirlGrace Can I win this game by just cursing out my boss right before I clock out?

@AudreyJune @comradetaylorswift Yeah, I would do a normal day's work, then pour a drink or something on my boss's head with ten minutes left to go

@BestGirlGrace @comradetaylorswift Another option is to bring up unions at the beginning of the day and watch as they find a reason to fire you at the end.

@BestGirlGrace @comradetaylorswift kinda feel like it's pretty easy to spend a million in a day. gotta lay out some ground rules on what they can and cannot spend on

@healyn @comradetaylorswift Yeah, that's the tricky part. You can't just have them give the million to the first person standing outside the studio. I think I'd try something like- You have $10,000- It is in assorted bills in this briefcase- You have to get receipts?- You have to get something in exchange for your money- Can't have more than a dollar left over- Can't spend your own money- Tips capped at 20%

@irisjaycomics Deal Or No Deal, but the girls get to keep the money in their cases and the rest of the show is Howie Mandel trying to guillotine the banker

@BestGirlGrace essentially. There’s forty contestants and one case, and each person picks the case and gets the same amount of money. Occasionally the banker will call and tell a contestant that he has better plans for their prize, using it to generate fantastical piles of wealth for himself that he’ll DEFINITELY pay them a slim percentage of SOMETIME in the far far future, if they’ll just give up their prize now. The contestants never take up his offer

@irisjaycomics you can either take the trickle-down option, giving the banker the money, or you can form a union with your fellow contestants to hold out and make the show really boring until the showrunners give in and make the prizes bigger. Also, they have a dude dressed like a Pinkerton that you get to punch in the gut.

@BestGirlGrace @healyn @comradetaylorswift It’s been years since I watched Brewster’s Millions, but didn’t the movie have a bunch of reasonably well thought out rules? At the least, you need to limit gifts and the like, otherwise going to a nightclub and saying “it’s on me!” would burn cash fast and easy.

@straightedgerazor @healyn @comradetaylorswift I've never seen the movie, but that's what I would expect. I think he makes a bunch of investments that turn out better than he thought?

@BestGirlGrace @healyn @comradetaylorswift I vaguely recall someone, the estate lawyer I think, trying to make him fail, and somehow hiding the fact that he hadn't spent as much as he thought... or something like that.

@healyn @comradetaylorswift @straightedgerazor Yeah, that sounds right. And the girl hid some of his money because she was worried about him spending so much.
