I'm starting the de-Googling process. It'll probably take a while, and it can probably never be 100% (because I do too much collaboration with people who use Google Docs / Calendar / etc.), but it feels good to get some of their hooks out of me.

I've been using Firebase for a lot of my projects, but I'd like to use a self-hosted back-end. I've got a simple Express server for static stuff, but I'd prefer not to write an entire back-end for my Notes and DoodleDoo apps. Does anybody recommend any particular Firebase alternatives? I've been looking into Hoodie and Parse Server, but I'm open to anything.

Also, does anybody know any good PeerTube channels? I've been browsing around a little, but haven't found anything solid yet.

@jrc03c Oh I want to do that too, slowly migrating most of my stuff over to my apple account, private server, etc. This biggest hurdle seems the (probably) hundreds of logins to all sorts of places where I used my gmail address 🤔

@attilam Same. I wish Proton mail would come up with a similar OAuth solution.
