       Can I please ask the Mastodon community a question?Everyone talks about Mastodon like it's a bastion of left-wing LGBTIQ people. But on several occasions I've been messaged by (and attacked by) people identifying as actual fascists.eg. I posted about a far-right group setting up in my neighbourhood, and almost all the replies I got were pro-far-right.Am I the only one seeing these people? I've been blocking them all individually, but is there a way I can block them all outright please?

       @praeceptor_effervescere if they're all coming from a specific server there should be an option if you visit their profile to hide all posts from the server they are on which may be helpful

       @animeirlI just checked my block list, and no two are from the same server. I can see some server names that seem like they might be problematic though (freespeechextremist.com).I'll block those servers, but the others... I just don't understand what's happening...

       @praeceptor_effervescere Mastodon is a software that federates with a larger network of servers called the fediverse. Mastodon uses a protocol called ActivityPub, which is the primary protocol of the fediverse. Fedi is comprised of servers run by many different groups and not all groups are the same. Some instances are big and largely censored on account of behavior and "de-federate" from naughty instances, like Niu here. Some are small communities with close ties and its own memes, like niu.
