       @thatcosmonaut Tom Nook gives out unlimited-time, interest-free loans to the unemployed (you're ostensibly the mayor but appear to be doing the job pro bono), his stores sell a wide range of affordable goods and he pays a fair and consistent price for any items you bring to him. He's doing everything he can to stave off the worst effects of late stage capitalism and for his trouble has been branded a raccoon mafioso!
