hmm... i wonder if anyone on the fediverse uses linux. i don't seem to have seen many people forcibly injecting themselves into conversations about it.

@lynnesbian I have gone through periods of high linux use, but since my career is 95% based in Windows that's really where I have to keep my head.

@lynnesbian yep I do.Windows is only at work and on my upcoming tablet (for hardware compatibility reason, I'd love to run it on Linux but it's a simple reading/writing tool, don't wanna take care of Bluetooth issues, I want good hardware integration). But personaly, I run on Ubuntu. Of course any server I have run Linux distro.Feeling like switching to Gentoo sometimes. So yeah. I love Linux for its adaptation capabilities. I like to be in control.

@lynnesbianI don't know about other people, but decis have a strong preference for Arch Linux, and like to put it even on computers that come with other flavours of Linux pre-installed. We also hack Arch Linux onto VPSes whose providers don't provide an Arch image or ISO. And for good measure, we also install Arch in a VM on computers whose primary OS cannot be Arch.

@lynnesbian I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it.

@lynnesbian Oh really...? Hi, I'm TheOuterLinux. Note how you don't have a hashtag, but I found you mentioning Linux anyway. That's how I have gotten most of my followers. 😅 Searching and encouraging with extreme (probably annoying at times) Tuxiness 💪🐧💪.
