This is such a cool idea. Emma Louise has released an album with all her vocals pitch shifted in a way to sound like a man. Interesting experiment for a singer-songwriterish album https://youtu.be/9J6K4VmZ7V4

Lots of people on youtube sound pretty upset about it but if she did it anonymously in some kind of milli vanilli situation it would attract bouquets like "Authentic" and "organic" haha

@Blerg what the heck why would someone get mad? This is even technically impressive, I used to do it to get a female vocal on stuff and it’s so hard to do it without just sounding chipmunky

@stunt_bird I guess if you're an old fan you'd be used to her old voice but, like, the old albums are still there?

@stunt_bird and yeah, I had no idea you could do it like this, when ever its done on, like, dance songs its super deep or chipmunky, never sounding like a human being.

@Blerg it’s very difficult because like, shifting pitch a couple semitones doesn’t read necessarily read as a change in the sex of the singer (is this a woman singing low notes or a man singing high notes?) so you have to kind of filter it also, it’s really crazy

@stunt_bird ive listened to the whole album now and she seems to have vocal tics she doesnt normally have as well to make her sound more masculine, like finishing a note early with a kind of gruffiness.
