       @roka hugo is a static site generator, i made my own theme/template and it processes posts in markdown and generates html from iti like writing in markdown more than html

       @crushv for most purposes, writing in micromarkup like markdown is only slightly faster than HTML. Well, unless you're using XML-constrained autistic dialect of HTML, that one is annoying to use (and a reason I'm not using DocBook 5 since that version is no longer pure SGML)

       @roka i just find it nicer in a lot of ways: i dont have to copy the header/footer every time i want to make a new post, i dont have to manually add new posts to the index, and if i want to change the header/footer on all pages at once i can just change the template file and rebuild the site.
