@loli @SRSB I disagree. Fiat money is the hallmark of a dying empire. One of our top priorities should be issuing debt-free currency backed by some scarce commodity whether that be metals or crypto. I'm not suggesting an-cap or full on libertarianism either. Issuing stable currency is one of the only real duties of government.

Synthetic biology, nanotech and AI will converge within 40-200 years enabling us extend life indefinitely, augment our own intelligence, rewrite our genomes and evolve into something beyond what we can even imagine currently.I work do genetics work. Been programming software for 20 years. I know enough about it to see what's on the horizon. It's really a a matter of where we invest our resources whether it happens on the sooner side or the longer side of that time frame.

@SRSB we're doing the opposite of selective breeding (eugenics). We're doing dysgenics by subsidizing the least productive parasitic elements of society. The only chance of evolving now is synthetic biology. The rest of society is too far gone. Hopefully everyone can benefit from the technology and we can move beyond this phase
