so the cat phone needs a new plastic thing that goes on the end of the phone line that plugs into the wall. What do I Google and what tools do I need?

@hierarchon that was my first thought, but the other end goes into the cat and I can't take it out.

@BestGirlGrace yeah then I think you want a connector (the plastic bit) and a crimper (the tool that attaches it) but i’m not an EE need so i might be wrong

@hierarchon That sounds right. This kitty might ring yet.

@BestGirlGrace @hierarchon would probably be easier and cheeper to solder a different cable that's already crimped to it

@Lesbians @hierarchon This is the non-plug end of the cable. I can't do anything with it. I don't own a soldering iron or a crimper, but I feel like the crimping would be easier? Wouldn't you have to solder both the wires inside the phone line separately somehow?

@BestGirlGrace @hierarchon ah you don't have a soldering iron. I was just thinking you solder like 6 inches of a different cable (which you could probably get for free ("...and then everyone at Amazon had a pink stripe in their hair. The end.")) to the end of itYeah, it's just that a crimping tool is a tiny bit of an investment for something you'd probably never use again 🤷 maybe it you also wanted to make your own Ethernet cables?....Go find someone who seems geeky enough to have that sort of thing :P or like a "maker space"or what not lol

@Lesbians @hierarchon Yeah, I'll probably end up seeing if I can use someone more competent to help with this. I don't really have the space in my house to be buying a lot of tools I barely know how to use. Thank you, though!
