I have 2 years and 1 month till I turn 30. I've been having a growing midlife crisis for ages now, and my 28th is coming.Any advice you older folks might have? I don't really know how to start up a career, I'm still too poor to have a home, still trying to figure out if my boyfriend and I are in it for the long haul. How'd you deal with the end of your twenties?I spent today playing video games but it felt somewhat justified. I've been busy. Still though, I have no idea of my future.

@zoey if you are in a relationship you're doing better than i did at that age.Try not to feel guilty about "achieving" shit or w/e, we live in a garbage society and you should just enjoy yourself as much as you can

@Los_Ingobernables_De_Mastodon @zoey this. the idea that you “have to do” anything to have legitimate value as a human being is a social construct 👻 encouraged by capitalism and its inherent environment of competition

@hasya23 @Los_Ingobernables_De_Mastodon Thanks! I feel anxious about the shrinking dating pool, and I don't wanna figure out late if I'm cool with our future, like planning to never cohabitatethe rest just seems like a checklist on my progress to the grave. It's definitely capitalism-driven, but I'm not even on my own cell phone plan or have any idea of how to get insurance.also tbh: this is proally the hottest i'll ever be and i want to have enjoyable sex constantly while i still can

@zoey I recommend making a list. I decided about that age I wanted my future to look like: a couple of long term partners who live with me or nearby, my own home, no babies, a couple of pets ideally a dog, a nice garden, four or five really good friends, a well paid job that doesn't stress me out too much. I'm 38 now and I have achieved pretty much all those things.

@zoey work on improving yourself, mind and body, and the rest will hopefully follow. I'm only 32, still no clue. but I feel better about everything post weight loss and having started actively working out.
