I replaced #elementary with #UbuntuMATE on my laptop a few days ago and Goddam it feels like home. Sorry :elementary: folks, but I’ll be replacing my desktop with :ubuntumate: too.I love that we have so much choice though!

@ethan tried kubuntu and Neon too. I really don’t see what all the fuss is about, I really don’t like KDE.

@jason I'm not sure about it, jase.I'm trying to install Plasma but at the end of installation it says "An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed".WOT? CD? @jason @kde @ivan @kungtotte @erikstl @kev @geotechland @DonMcCollough @brejoc @gianf @anik3t @ethan @technoslickYes BUT if you don’t care about stuff like opening windows in a exact size on a exact place on the exact screen by default etc. Mate is much lighter and pretty awesome too. Saying that - I love kde / plasma but still am pissed off with some of the decisions devs made. They took away lot of options from users.

They're always placed on random or on left screen.Also, every time one of the displays is turned off, everything goes to hell. MacOS usually restores position after that and GNOME did as well 😕
