Quick straw poll: Would you be more likely to spell out the words in content warnings (e.g. "mental health" instead of "mh", "US politics" instead of "uspol") if content warnings didn't count against the character limit for the toot they're attached to?https://www.strawpoll.me/16503664

@noelle I didn't realize they /did/ count against the limit. I am oblivious, whoops. o_o

@noelle I'd use abbreviations b/c typing on a screen keyboard on my phone is a nuisance. Also, Tootdon has poor UI when it comes to long CWs. Very. Poor. UI.

@noelleIn my opinion, Content Warnings should never use abbreviations, even if the poster struggles with the character limit. It provides a better service for the people that seriously need CWs.That being said, I support CWs not counting towards the total character limit.

@noelle Depends completely on the culture of the instance I'm on at the moment. (Also, there's so much space for toots that a couple more characters won't make a big dent in it)
