I still maintain the only group that can use the straight pride flag and have it be socially acceptable are straight trans folk.

@Elizafox Mostly because I sometimes forget they exist. They deserve it.

It's not out of bias, but because they get undeserved bullshit from cishets who think they're just gay and from cis gay folk who historically have not been our best allies (plenty still aren't, see also lesbian TERFs)

@dr1ft I think it's possibly due to abuse suffered at the hands of men, or an overreaction to the way they were born. The former is unfortunate but understandable, the latter is just an unhealthy attitude.

@dr1ft But when it crosses into "trans men are gross" territory I have to draw a line

@dr1ft I remember the first time I found a shitty trans woman. It was a sadly enlightening experience and a hard lesson learned: trans people are people, for better or for worse.

@dr1ft @Elizafox coming from a trans lesbian, while I can't understand their preferences because I'm literally trying to do the opposite, I can at least sympathize with their situation. they experience crippling dysphoria much like mine and I can support them in that regard.whether they share my preferences is irrelevant at that point. they're still human.

@dr1ft @Elizafox I mean honestly this goes beyond hating a certain demographic, this is just basic humanity.
