Yeah I'd like to see Capitalism go as much as the next Socialist, but if it has to exist, I think companies need to be in a position where they have zero influence or power, literally banned from politics altogether, and prohibited from accepting public funds except as part of a contract.

I'm not one of those all or nothing Socialists, I'm willing to accept incremental reform

I would like to wake up one day and live in a Socialist paradise. I also know that the Big Lie about Socialism is way too widespread for that to happen right now.

@Elizafox Seriously, though, incremental reform is not a bad thing. And it may be the best we can do without violent revolution.

@Monty_Verdan Violent revolution is likely to most harm the people that it intends to help the most. The poor, sick, disabled, and infirm, are always the first to go hungry or die in revolutions.

@Elizafox Same ❤️ IMHO I think Capitalism is just fine so long as it's kept in a very tightly sealed box that does not in any way involve politics, nature, or any human necessities.Capitalist influence in and/or control over governmental regulations, (staple) groceries, (essential) medicine and (basic) housing is absolutely immoral in my opinion, but it's an effective (if unfair) way to balance the scarcity of luxury items.

@mawr Yeah, commerce is fine for things in limited supply, even skill (which is itself a resource, people forget). Full automation is not likely to happen anytime soon, and I'm not even sure such a thing is desirable, considering the ethical implications of literally enslaving machines as intelligent as us just so we can live in a Socialist paradise; feels like a step backwards to me.
