for the longest time i thought "peanut butter & jelly" meant that you used jelly, and then i remembered that americans call jam jelly for some fucking reason (they call jelly jell-o)

@lynnesbian As an American, this toot confused me until I reversed what was being said. "The rest of the English world calls gelatin/Jell-O jelly and they call jelly jam."And for the record, the whole jam thing isn't like that. There's different classifications. From thickest to thinnest, it's: marmalade, jam, and then jelly. It's not just America.

@lynnesbian @radicalrobit update -- we don't measure things at all. Measure nonce, cut forever, that's my motto and therefore the motto of all TexansThat and "whatever fluffs your flankers"

@lynnesbian Jam and jelly are two slightly different things. Jam uses crushed fruit whereas jelly uses fruit juice. So jam is going to contain more of the fruit and be better for you.

@a_breakin_glass @lynnesbian @radicalrobit In the era of John Foster Dulles sprinkles were called *shot*. Going to grad school just so I can have an audience when I write about this.
