@Deiru @lynnesbian that's not true. gnome is highly customizable once you know how. also it's a security measure so the dumb user doesn't fuck the system once they checked the wrong box. you can destroy a lot of things in other desktop environments.

@Deiru @lynnesbian that's not killing theming. they just want to do a qt-like approach in theming, because a lot of apps are broken in gtk (especially apps like tootle)

@Deiru @lynnesbian also this is something for the future which might be gnome 4. do you remember when they limited the extensions api? now since gnome 3.30 all of them work the same like before, but now they don't crash the system. the developers there are doing a great job. they just need some time to bury some legacy things.
