       @sir Often enough, while upgrading a system, I see a package where I think "What's this shit still doing on here". Probably out of scope for apk itself tho

       @sir You can partially accomplish it with virtual packages. Still manual but at least all the accumulated cruft isn't dangling.

       @sirI do this all the time on my NixOS (https://nixos.org/) setup: I use `nix-shell -p <PACKAGES>` to drop into a shell with the packages installed. After leaving the shell they are not in my path anymore and are garbage collected once a month (cached until then in case I use them again).This is something I miss a lot on other distros.
