@jason I'm always on the lookout for where Microsoft is in the "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" cycle. I think right now, they're somewhere in the "Extend, Extinguish" area. Probably mostly still in "Extend". Microsoft's track record does give us a pretty good idea of what's on the horizon though. Does that sound too jaded?@AndrzejL @timapple @rtwx @brandon

@mikeI think MicroSoft are in a deep state of Extend. They have embraced by showing they ♥ Linux by buying influence into the heart of community by becoming a Linux Foundation Board member, and have also won the hearts of the community by purchasing GitHub, a resource that many open source projects hold dear. In addition yo this they joined OIN.They are now in the extend game, first they create SphereOS that can only be developed on windows, are able to offer/propose developers (developers, developers. .. ) new tools on github, and have a version of Linux in their appstore, additionally they also have access to all of IBM and RedHats patents via the OIN...I think the Extinguish phase will be different to that of the past they will♥Linux soo much they will smother it and win the hearts and minds of developers as they do so.Looks to me that Microsoft are attempting to remove the NECESSITY for a seperate Linux OS. if you remove the NECESSITY for a Linux OS provide a single familiar target for developers to create Electron Apps for.@brandon @rtwx @timapple @AndrzejL
