@lonedissenter Guess you'd better put your anime avatar back on then, Kenshiro-san.

@lonedissenter @ricotta honestly I no longer have any idea who 75% of the people i talk to are anymore. Everyone deletes and respawns so often, then they start following and talking like old buddies.

@LoneDissenter First time I visited, I hardly knew any kanji. I learned a few very quickly: 牛丼, 駅, 親子丼, 豚肉, 焼き鳥. You know, the important stuff.

@LoneDissenter @p If you get a chance, bicycle across from Imabari, Shikoku to Onomichi, Honshu on the SHIMANAMI KAIDO bikeway... really beautiful! Also, if you want a great place to stay, look for the LIGHTHOUSE GUESTHOUSE on IKI, off of KYUSHU:http://www.lighthouse-iki.jp/The host, Seiji Okamoto, is an awesome dude who likes practising his English (and will also teach you some Japanese if you want). He really likes soccer, and is also into Rock Music.

@LoneDissenter @p That's sick man! I thought that I recognised Aso from your picture. Last year, a friend and I bicycled around the entire island of Kyushu, starting out in Fukuoka and going around the coast by Beppu, Oita, Miyazaki, inland through Miyakonojo to the volcano Sakurajima/Ontake, and then past Akune and via ferry to the Amakusa Islands, and to Nagasaki, Sasebo, and Hirado. We slept in parks, camping at night in hammocks to save cost and space. There's a lot of really interesting Christian historical sites in Nagasaki, Shimabara, and on the Amakusa islands. Particularly, there is a really nice Cathedral at Sakitsu, and also in Nagasaki of course there is the Urakami Cathedral that was destroyed by the Atomic Bomb.Kyushu is really awesome. It gives you a good taste of "Hontou Nippon", as a friend I met in on the beach in Hirado, Masashi, put it.Too many people only think of Tokyo (and maybe Osaka) when they think of Japan.
