I guess there's a certain age in life where, when you get to see all your relatives in one place, chances are it's another funeral.

@fribbledom I made this comment to someone a while ago. We've all now started meeting for more funerals than weddings & baptisms. I'm hoping this will change at some point.

@fribbledom the last time I saw my extended family was a funeral. Probably won't until the next one. This is so true.

@fribbledom I'm happy that I saw them last on my father's 80st b'day this year, and will see them again at my mother's 75th in a few weeks. Also, the wife's family has a big and funny get-together every xmas. Old friends, OTOH, I tend to see at funerals.

@fribbledom urgfh. Sounds about right. Funerals and other religion-based ceremonies, and then it's only one half of the family at best.

@fribbledom im not one for tradition but i do enjoy the festivals in India. Its always a large number of the family, lots of amazing food, about 12 times a year every year and each one unique about what the festival is about.

@j I don't dare to click on "like", but am not exactly sure how else to respond. Just know you're not alone, it's a part of all our lives. Savor the moments with all your loved ones and friends!
