If I wanted to buy a couch, I wouldn't spend twice as much as it costs just to get enough of their proprietary currency that can only be used on their products in order to get it, so why tf is it legal for mobile devs?

Like I can play a heavily modded version of minecraft from four years ago and get a good 100+ hours out of it now. That version will always be available regardless of Microsofts support.

@lynnesbian Basically! I guess I'm just slightly over-sensitive to the "these devs are being crappy" as a student gamedev, when it's more of a "these stores are being crappy" issue. I'm very sure the devs hate this crap as much as the customers

@lynnesbian The addition of Minecraft Bux™ is a real shame, but this isn't really anything new, they've done this since the Xbox 360 version came outBack then it was sad to see them do it, but it was just kinda acceptedThe normal version of minecraft is written in Java, so it runs like total ass even on good PCsThis new version is written in a sane programming language so it runs GREATBut it's only on NSA10, and locked down like hellWe now have two imperfect versions of Minecraft

@Ocean22 @lynnesbian It'd be cool if Minetest or one of the other open source Minecraft clones could take off. I'd like to be able to run an MC server and client on the same computer without it chugging even on a brand new Ryzen.

@lynnesbian To be 1000% honest, I never got into modding minecraft anyways because back when I would they'd update it and then getting the mods working on the new version again would be hellThe real bad thing for me is the fucking Minecraft Bux™It's a shame that they carried over what they did on the 360 version to all the versionsIt takes a lot of the creativity out of the game for sure
