RE: https://social.lansky.name/@hn50/115933525382498045I haven't read this article yet, but I'm sure that it'll be an interesting read.I fear that the #USA's hostile trade policies with #Canada are pushing it into the arms of the East, and they will further embrace nations like #China. OTOH, this is all clearly due to #Trump's whims, and may reverse itself once #Trump leaves office.Still, #Canada's woes are a lesson in the virtue of having a robust economy and manufacturing infrastructure.

@realcaseyrollins If Canada allies with China, no one will blame the US for invading.

@amerika As a Canadian immigrant and 10+ year citizen of the Great White North, yes Trump is rolling out aggressive policies on Canada but yes it is Canada's fault. The weak leadership of our country, shutting down our innovation and ambition since world war II, going from the economic teat of Great Britain to USA (whilst kowtowing to Quebec, the Puke lobby (Puke=Polish + Ukraininain immigrants to Canada who have beef with Soviet Union and its successor, the Russian Federation) and the Laurentian Elite (Ontarian+Quebec industrialists, politicians and bankers) is why Canada is effectively a 51st of the USA. Were we pressured to be dependent? Absolutely, but we could have had leaders who were more patriotic and assert things in our best interests so that we could be more resilient to US economic pressure.America has another neighbour, Mexico. Double Canada's population, way less tech innovation and natural resources, better healthcare, way more resilience to American interference.Canada was the neighbour who can go into the yard, through the front door and into the fridge and say to America "hey, you got any beer here?" and USA would say "sure bud". Now America is tightening its belt and look after his own family as saying "no Canada, coffee is for closers" and yeah, it sucks. But if you don't have the economic conditions to build stuff from scratch - because you have immigration problems, economic problems etc, you will look for shortcuts. And Carney and his cronies will take any shortcut to buy themselves more political runway before his Liberal party crash lands for all Canada to see. He has successfully used Trump as a boogie man in our media, and Trump isn't making it hard for him to do so.USA is not innocent here, but most the blame falls squarely on Trudeau-Carney liberals, and politically ignorant Canadians who have only known of a Canada that was little brother to the USA so they always voted against Canada's long term independent interests.Don't feel sorry for Canada (the govt, its policies): just pray for Canadians to wake up.It's already late - hopefully not too late.(thanks for reading my long post)@realcaseyrollins

@Godsend @realcaseyrollins From afar, I have no specific knowledge, but it seems to me that you are correct, and the task to Canada is to actually decouple from the United States by developing an independent, self-sufficient economy. Liberal policies blocked that one handily.@PNS
