       @_elena @bjoernsta @EUCommission Presence on Mastodon demonstrates to a wide audience a sense of sophistication and commitment to important values, unlike use of retrograde platforms that everyone agrees are simplistic, manipulative, and generally contemptible. You are signalling something valuable by using Mastodon, but only if people can see that you do so.

       @Tutanota I never give money to any privacy org that takes money or favors from Google, Facebook, or other companies running surveillance infrastructure (and being used by governments). Last I checked, EFF does take such money, but I'm willing to be corrected if they've changed course. #privacy
