@dansup @pixelfed I don't know.If someone asked that question about Mastodon, or even better - ActivityPub in general - I would definitely say yes.Probably, even Mastodon should not do it by itself, it should be integrated somewhere on the level of the protocol, and not the platform itself.

@dansup just ask yourself, would you do the same, if you were in Ukraine, and waking up every day from air raid alerts, explosions, and having electricity only for part of the day, because russians destroyed half power plants in your country.That's the situation we're in.Maybe he's a great man, and the projects are cool. But you gotta understand the other side.My russian friends fled Russia the day the war started, or even before that. Because they may have said something that gets them killed or imprisoned under that regime. And I understand that not everyone is able to do this.We really appreciate your work on the Fediverse, and also your presence here. And I'm pretty sure people are not attacking you, but just want to be heard.

@dansup @pixelfed Is there good and not resource-heavy LLMs that run on Android/iOS, capable of doing this sort of thing?Alt text generation is pretty heavy on resources, and even my AMD Ryzen desktop with RX 6800 XT takes some time when using LLAVA with ollama.And client-side generation must be implemented on each client...Maybe, it's better to provide API and different backends?

@sturmsucht One thing worth keeping in mind, when you pay money to kagi, part of that money is going to Russia/Yandex, and that money is used to make rockets/drones which are then used to kill Ukrainians.
