@dansup @pixelfed The 2019 one is best. And it's interesting, reading the other replies, that EVERYONE agrees the 2022 one is a backward step.

@dansup Is there a Best Of PIxelfed account that I can follow from here on Mastodon to see, say, half a dozen lovely photos per day?

So many websites — Gmail, Mastodon, Slack, Amazon, many many more — constantly pop up "helpful" mouseover panes when I'm moving my cursor somewhere I want it to be. About 10% of the time they genuinely are helpful; but nine times out of ten they've just in the way.Website designers: STOP IT. If I want to see what some interface element has behind it, I'm perfectly capable of clicking.#web #ua #ux

I was just thinking to myself "It would be good if #Mastodon let you follow someone's original posts without seeing all the stuff they boost, which is not relevant to me".Then it occurred to me to look and see if it does ... and it does! Click on the person's username, then click the three-dots menu near top right of their profile, then choose "Hide boosts from …"This is a game-changer!

@organicmaps @tobru @Codeberg I think you're making the right call, OrganicMaps. Lots of calls for "action" by (in most cases) people who haven't given any thought to all the things you mention.

@MicroSFF Yeah, great. Treat allies as enemies. That's gonna help.

@libreoffice Yet another job ad that makes NO MENTION WHATSOEVER of salary. This is ridiculous. How can I know whether it's even open to me financially to apply for this unless I have SOME idea of what it pays?

@organicmaps Is there a website that is to the Organic Maps app as maps.google.com is to the Google Maps app?

@organicmaps The feature I really need, and whose absence keeps sending me back to Google Maps despite msyelf, is real-time routing based on prevailing traffic. Is there any way that might be on the way? (I get that it depends on privacy-dubious approaches, but it's just so darned useful.)

@organicmaps Oh, that is exciting news indeed! I think this would be a game-changer for adoption.

I'm setting up a new MacBook, and I need #LibreOffice obviously. It occurred to me that it might be available in the App Store, which would be slightly more convenient than a separate download. It is ... for £8.99. What on earth is going on?!CC @libreoffice

@libreoffice Yes, I did get it from the website instead. Are the MacOS-specific improvements documented anywhere? (I don't see it described in the App Store itself.)
