Bio was too big, and I didn't yet make an #Introduction:Hi, I'm Leonard/Janis (like Cohen/Joplin respectively), I use they/them pronouns, he/him (Leo) and she/her (Janis).I'm a #genderqueer #hacker from #Berlin. I'm a professional procrastinator, don't expect me to stick to one project :'-)Outside of computing I love #running, #handball and #rollerblades, adore cats, have a passion for #teaching and spend too much time following politics. I listen to #Blues but my musical taste has since widened to also embrace R'n'B, Rock, Funk, and a lot of modern stuff. I read classic #fiction and my favorite authors are Terry #Pratchett, Douglas Adams, J.R.R. #Tolkien, Robert Harris, and Sjöwall & Wahlöö (rather male dominated, send recommendations!).I'm politically left #AssignedCatAtBirth but not settled on the specific question of government.I'm a #privacy and #security fetishist (these aren't the same, sometimes even oblique). Some see a gray space here, I consider the right to data self-determination a fundamental right. Also, free #housing, #publicTransport and a livable environment are fundamental. #Learning and #teaching are crucial for individuals and society. Tech won't solve our core problems, merely highlight them and perhaps provide tools for change we can use.

My profile picture gallery! One thing I actually liked about Telegram is it's feature to optionally have somewhat of a history of profile pictures, rather than just one. So while I didn't keep all of them and have some deleted, this is a selection of some of the pfps I've used and grown attached to, even if I don't use them anymore :)First: A rather badly taken photo with smeared lipstick -- but I like the haircut (it was just fresh) :D

@Triffen @GIMP Not yet:> Bruno Lopes has truly taken the lead to improve our build and packaging process on multiple platforms.> > Over the summer, he created an experimental AppImage build (as detailed in a prior news post). If you are interested in improving it further and hopefully making it available as a standard download, please get in touch! Bruno has also created flatpak build scripts to make the process of creating your own GIMP flatpak much easier. It's not there yet since there are many things (continued from my quote) Bruno is tackling with AppImage being just one and this work isn't completely done yet, but can continue til release.

@mntmn Tolerate is tricky. Since my current non-OSHW pocket device is around 6" the OSHW just needs to be around the dame size. To make me happy however, something around 4" (actually *fits* in my pocket) would be highly desirable. The Xperia Minis or Xperia T where quite perfect in that regard, earlier iPhone SEs too.Although, my preference would be to not even have a pocket device at all: Often I do not have pockets, devices may fall out of them (especially when biking), I forget/misplace such devices, etc. :'-D

@RandamuMaki @davidrevoy @GIMP @Krita To be fair, GIMP is not really a drawing tool but mostly a photo post-processing tool. Although I do agree that one big appeal of Photoshop is that it's drawing + photo editing in one.

@GIMP Oh, for sure! It also makes sense to support painting, since for editing existing pictures/photos it is also often useful to have some kind of painting support. Especially if you do things that aren't just photo post-processing but artwork based on other images or other manipulation. These two use-cases intersect but aren't completely identical.

@gcluley This was lovely and also pain inducing to watch. Also, that's why you always prepare a scripted demo.

@frameworkcomputer Curious how you post about bazzite here and supporting fascist projects on X, but no mention of the latter here.

@organicmaps Seconding live traffic information, same for public transport. Also I find the UX of OMaps sometimes a bit tricky. If I first enter the destination and then go "route to" it's often finicky to chose a different "route from" etc. I think that here, copying GMaps flow would be beneficial. Routing "along" imported GPX would be great as well, this could also be used to have better bbrouter integration: E.g., a custom "bike" profile I've setup in bbrouter -> export To OMaps and than receive navigation instructions to stay on track.I also would like to see "ratings" of restaurants although that's tricky to do in a purely open manner.I love OMaps though, I use it everyday. But often in conjunction with GMaps.

@mntmn Banach & Tarski: If we split the ship in infinitely small parts and then replace them over time are the resulting two ships the same as the first one?
